When you buy or own a water softener, do you ingest the salt from the salt pellets, or is this filtered out??
People with high blood pressure would be affected by ingesting extra salt. As my parents are in their 80′s, I need to know if they would be ingesting salt if they buy a new water softener for their home. Thank you.

The salt is a catalyst and does not enter the system for human use or consumption
No as said above, the salt is a catalyst. It is part of the filtration system and doesn’t become part of the consumable
You only ingest the sodium portion of the salt.
Check with the water filter company.
Look at the plumbing. Isn’t the hot water line the only one that goes thru the softener? People usually don’t drink from the hot tap.
