Why is my water dispenser is dispensing warm water?
My GE smartwater dispenses warm water, when it should be cold. I’m wondering what the cause of this could be, and if it’s even worth getting repaired, or if I should just consider getting a new one.

That depends on what the weather is like where you are. My water main runs up the hill to my house and it’s only about 6 inches deep. So, when the sun heats up the soil around the pipe, even the cold water is warm for a minute or two until the slug of warm water goes through the system.
If you have an exposed part of the water main and it warms up from the sun or ambient temperature, you might be gettin a slug of warm water going through the system. Let it run for a minute or so and see if it gets cold again.
The simple answer would be check the plug. On the other hand, you may need to clean the coils. Since it’s a refrigerated unit, they may be dirty. Do that first, if it doesn’t help, call the repairman.
