Will a Brita/Pur Water Filter take care of bacteria from semi-consumed water bottles?
I’ve got a bad habit of opening a bottle of water, drinking less than half and leaving it somewhere, then forgetting about it and opening a new one.
I understand after a couple days (especially if left uncapped) this is an all-inclusive party for bacteria growth.
Rather than throwing these half-consumed bottles of water, would an effective treatment be to run them through my PUR or Brita Water pitcher in the fridge?

you could boil the water if you were that fearful….
It’s irrelevant because you’re clearly homeless. How will you afford a filter?
